Mars Class 2026-2027 

Welcome to Mars Class, where every day is filled with wonder, discovery, and fun! We are a happy and caring group of 4-5 year olds who love to learn, play, and explore together. Our classroom is a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to be themselves as they begin their exciting school journey.

In Reception, we believe that children learn best through play. Whether we are building, creating, investigating, storytelling, or exploring the outdoors, every activity helps us develop new skills and make sense of the world around us. Our learning experiences are carefully planned to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and inspire a love of learning.

We have a wonderful team comprising of two teachers: Mrs Owden (Mon, Tue and Friday) and Mrs Ives (Wed and Thurs) supported by Miss O, Miss Weller and Miss Cams. The team work tirelessly with the children in developing the EYFS Characteristics of Effective Learning by learning to play and explore, actively engage, and think creatively and critically. We encourage the children to ask questions, try new things, share ideas, and persevere when challenges arise. Through these experiences, they grow in confidence and independence every day.

Our Reception community is built on kindness, friendship, and respect. We celebrate our achievements, support one another, and take pride in all that we do. Together, we learn, explore, imagine, and shine as we take our first steps on a lifelong learning journey! ✨
